WILDWOOD KENT UNVEILS A CRACKING EASTER LINE-UP!
The Bears are back, the Bison are browsing and the baby Wallabies are bouncing as we pull out all the stops for a fortnight of fun!
From Friday 29th March - Sunday 14th April, Kent’s most egg-cellent animal park, Wildwood Trust, will be helping visitors put a spring in their step this Easter with a host of fun activities and a line-up of furry favourites.
For chocolate fiends looking for a challenge, there’ll be a twisting trail around the park, just outside Herne Bay, with a chocolatey treat waiting at the end for all those who crack the clues based on the park’s animals and incredible wildlife conservation projects.
Daily activities for young animal enthusiasts will also be on offer with interactive Touch Tables, Keeper Talks and a chance to pick up some outdoor skills with bushcraft experiences!
The WILDLINGS HOLIDAY CLUB will also be running each Wednesday! Children will have the opportunity to learn about our animals, enjoy exploring for mini-beasts, get involved with various craft activities and nature-based games. (5-11 Years Old)
For Teenagers with a passion for nature, we've launched our very first TEEN ZOOKEEPER experience on Friday 12th April, aimed at children with a keen interest in becoming a zookeeper or working with animals later in life!
Eagle-eyed visitors may be able to spot a glimpse of some new additions to the park including the adorable Joeys in the Wallaby enclosure and the newest residents - a pair of handsome Bison Bulls.
The duo, who arrived from Scotland earlier this month have taken on the baton as ambassadors for the species, following in the footsteps of their much missed predecessors, Haydes and Orsk.
Meanwhile, some old favourites will be rearing their heads in the form of Eurasian brown bears Fluff and Scruff. The popular duo will be reemerging after a near four-month hibernation and will be joining bear cub Boki, who’s been eagerly awaiting their return!
The animals have been in a heavily-reduced state of activity called "torpor", in which their metabolism slows and they become very sleepy. Wildwood is one of the few wildlife parks which allow their bears to go into torpor - a survival tactic bears use in the wild to make it through periods when food is scarce.
To keep energy levels up for visitors, there’ll be a steady supply of hot-buns alongside other sumptuous spring snacks at the park cafe. Parents can sit back and enjoy while the kids go wild in the amazing adventure playground featuring the vertical drop slide, zip wire, Pine Marten Towers and twisting tube slide, there is also a special area for under-5’s.
This truly is an Easter Egg-stravaganza!
