Boki has surgery
Wildwood Trust makes UK history as specialist wildlife surgeon Romain Pizzi performs critical brain surgery on Boki, our two-year-old brown bear suffering from seizures.
An MRI, funded by Fitzpatrick Referrals, revealed Boki has hydrocephalus, (fluid on the brain). The groundbreaking procedure, involving a stent to drain fluid from Boki's brain, offers our young bear a chance at a healthier, enriched life.
Arctic foxes have cubs
Our arctic fox pair gave birth to 10 playful pups in 2024.
We noticed Flo and Albert preparing natural den sites within their enclosure in April, and Teddy had started behaving very protectively towards Flo.
A couple of months later 10 little fluff balls slowly appeared from their warm and cosy den, five male and five female.
The cubs have been weaned from their mother and enjoy regular meals of chicks, fish and berries, which are brought to them by their keepers.
When they are a little older, half of them will be taken to our sister park in Devon.
New bison bulls
Meet our newest residents - a pair of handsome Bison Bulls.
The duo, who arrived from Scotland earlier this month have taken on the baton as ambassadors for the species, following in the footsteps of their much missed predecessors, Haydes and Orsk.
Wallaby babies
Eagle-eyed visitors may be able to spot a glimpse of some new additions to the park including the adorable Joeys in the Wallaby enclosure.
Our animals
We are home to over 200 native British animals. Set in 40 acres of ancient woodland, our animals are kept in natural enclosures and we encourage them to display natural behaviour, as if they were in the wild.
