While half a class undertake their Living History workshop, the rest can enjoy a special History Tour around Wildwood, to discover how people from that particular time-period interacted with British animals.
Stone Age
Discover which of Wildwood’s animals were painted on cave walls, made of clay or engraved on bone during the Ice Age and how important our native animals were to the survival of the human race.
Saxon
Find out which animals played a central role in Saxon mythology and also in the everyday lives of the people on our Saxon-themed tour.
Viking
Who are the wolves Hati and Skol, that are attempting to swallow the Sun and the Moon and why were Odin’s Ravens called Hugin and Munin? These are just some of the animals at Wildwood that inhabit the rich tales of Norse mythology. Come and meet them on a Viking-themed tour.
